Cash strapped home buyers are snapping up units in inner city Brisbane as lifestyle & location win out over the dream of owning a house.

Brisbane unit sales have surged 17.5 percent in the March quarter.

REIQ has confirmed that Brisbane’s inner city suburbs was showing strong sales results.

Evidence has shown that Units were selling quicker than the figures revealed.

The report shows Brisbane’s median value is $367,377 compared with the median house value of $461,700.

RP Data figures show Unit sales in Queensland have increased 19.6 per cent  in the last year to 29,169 sales.

Vern Gilbert from Professional Toowong said affordability issues were driving the increase of unit sales in the inner city areas.
